This course provides a foundational understanding of sexual orientation, gender identity and expression (SOGIE). Commonly referred to as LGBTQIA+ (or similar acronyms), SOGIE-diverse individuals face unique challenges and experiences. This course will help you, as a peer specialist, provide inclusive peer services to those who are SOGIE-diverse.
Learning Objectives:
- Define sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.
- Understand common experiences of SOGIE diverse individuals.
- Provide inclusive and accepting peer support for someone who is SOGIE diverse.
